The Heart of a Leader
In his Lent 4 sermon Glynn looks at Samuel's anointing of David over his brothers to be Saul's successors and remarks on how timely a 2500 year old passage of scripture can still be today. He goes on to explore what is leadership we can believe in. "1 Samuel 16:7: “But Yahweh [God] said to Samuel, “Do not look on one’s appearance or on the height of one’s stature… for I do not see as mortals see. They look on the outward appearance, but I look on the heart.” "It’s a great verse for the ugly, fat, and impotent! Power and looks are something that we are all meant to aspire to and never quite be satisfied with. Wouldn’t it be great if Hollywood chose its stars on the state of their hearts?
