"Gary Dee Attends His Own Funeral" was broadcast the last week of March 1974. Now, 40 years after it aired, the show has such deep impact and even more meaning than it did in 1974. This is a story that is humorous, thought provoking, and serious at times. Nobody suspected what Gary Dee had in mind throughout this series of programs. This story has an ending with a twist, but I won't spoil it for you. Gary Dee Attends His Own Funeral (Pt14) Bob Price ending news and turns mic over to John Webster. John gives a brief rundown of funeral events. John turns the mic over to Master of Ceremonies Merle Pollis in Public Square. Merle does a very funny opening monologue. As Merle is eulogizing “Fearless Number One” we can hear Gary making wisecracks in the background! Merle introduces the first person, WERE traffic reporter Ciatta Mickey. Ciatta does very well with her presentation despite Gary's loud and funny interjections from his casket. Next, a pregnant woman eulogizes Gary in a very funny skit. Merle announces that they will take a break for a word from our sponsor. Commercials, 4 minutes worth! These sponsors you hear got one Hell of a deal! This was radio at its best. It couldn't be beat anywhere in the country.
