London based Japanese DJ, Koichi Sakai, presents the very best in Soul, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Latin and Afrobeat, at the Ghetto Lounge installment of SOAS Radio.
Ghetto Lounge started as a DJ event in Café 1001, Brick Lane since 2003, and is still running today on 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. Ghetto Lounge is also a recording label and promoter of the quality musical culture movement of London, with live performances at "Afrobeat Vibration" bringing the spirit of Fela Kuti and "JAZZ ON THE ROAD" reproducing the style and essence of the ‘beat generation'

Ghetto Loungeは２００３年にブリックレーンにあるカフェ１００１でDJイベントとしてスタートして、今でも毎月第２、４月曜日に開催されています。現在はレコードレーベルでもあり、またフェラ・クティのスピリットを受け継ぐ"Afrobeat Vibration"や、ビート・ジェネレーションのスタイルを現代風に再現した"JAZZ ON THE ROAD"などのライブイベントで、ロンドンのすばらしい音楽ムーヴメントと文化を紹介するプロモーターとしても活動しています。
